This position works closely with the Senior Leadership Team and staff from across the School, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and future-focused operation of the School, enabling staff to focus on delivering outstanding teaching and learning.The RoleAs Director of Academic Operations, you will:Manage the School calendar and oversee significant whole-school events.Lead daily academic operations, including duty rosters, supervision schedules, staffing allocations, and relief coverage.Work closely with the timetabling team and academic leaders to design schedules that balance effective learning with staff and student wellbeing.Provide leadership and oversee the school’s excursions process and provide operational support for camps, national and international trips, and study tours in the Senior School.Lead key staff to ensure the smooth operation of examinations and external tests, including but not limited to HSC and IB Trials and Final Examinations, Year 7 – 10 Examinations, AAS testing, NAPLAN and other academic testing.Ensure operational practices meet compliance standards for child protection, WHS, curriculum delivery, and school registration.Contribute to strategic planning and policy development in collaboration with the School’s leadership team.Build high-performing teams through mentoring, professional development, and supporting staff wellbeing.Be an outstanding classroom teacher (Years 7 –12).About YouYou will bring to the role:A strategic, data-informed mindset with a solutions-focused approach.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to foster collaboration across teams.A commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence in education.
